'Find' and 'QuickConnect' on Toolbar

I think the Search and Quick Connect features would be more useful if they functioned more like web browsers do. Perhaps a drop-down to box to change between Find and Quick Connect so that you can share a single, common "search" field, then an "expand" or arrow button to show 'Advanced' options like credentials and display mode. All of this in the toolbar with no popups or new tabs launched.
