Using Private Crentials
#1
We are using ASG Desktop 2017.   Some of our users are getting prompted for their password when RDP'ing in to a Windows Server.

I checked and their settings are the same as mine:
- They have created  private credentials, complete with password, and NOT checked require password
- The folder credential settings that has the connection objects has no default, no inherited, and their private credentials under personal

If they right click an object in the folder, select connect as and use their private credentials, they connect without password prompt.  So it appears their private credentials are working.

If they double click or right click/connect they get prompted for a password.

The credential settings on the object mirrors the folder setting - no default, no inherited and the personal reflects their private credentials.

Any suggestions on how we can fix it so they do not get prompted for a password?

What is displayed for users in the Default settings on the Connection object that is not working - Data exists or Not defined - And is active setting on "Default, Inherited or Personal" - if Inherited, do they really see their private creds that they want to use?

Default Values for Credentials is set to Data Exists / None.

Active setting?  How do you determine which is active?   We have "None" in Default and Inherited.

Personal is set to his private creds.

The three categories at the top "Default / Inherited / Personal" are buttons - the active one is displayed in orange. This is the active category that is used for connections.

Thank you.

On the folder, he has cleared Default.  He has set Personal.  He has selected Inherited.

Do you have to change every object in the folder for it to inherit from the folder setting?  It appears you can select all and change them all at once.

Yes you can use MultiEdit - select the folder and choose "MultiEdit Connections" or select all connections that you want to edit and choose "Properties"
