SQL DB In Azure?

Has anyone successfully configured 2015 for use with Azure?

I've installed a DB locally and migrated it into Azure but the environment wizard just keeps telling me the database does not exist, validate the database name.

Just curious if anyone else had any similar issues and got around it?

I know that customers did it that way and told me it works fine - it is on the list for directly accessing AZURE - will be in one of the next versions

Hi,

now i have ASG 2016 and try to create or connect to an azure sql db, but i always get error messages.
Can you give me a timeframe when we get Azure SQL support?
If not we can´t use ASG any longer...

I tested AZURE now - and there is a way to create database on AZURE right now

If you configure to run "Create new database" there will be an SQL error on executing some scripts (in my case the SQLUser creation failed) - ok - afterwards I tried again with the same database name - question "Override existing database" => Yes - and now the sql script for creating the user is not executed anymore - and it runs.

I configured an SQL 2014 instance on W2K12 server in AZURE environment.

Please let me know if it will work for you too - we will add an option for AZURE to prevent the first bug...

Tested again - the only way to get an error is when I try to specify "access user" the same as I login to SQL on Azure - because this is already the admin and can't be created a second time...

Hi,

i don´t try to setup a SQL 2014/16... on Azure, i want to use Azure SQL.
This is a link to Microsoft site, it is a SaaS database, i don´t need an own server.

It will i nice feature because our company want to replace all "normal" SQL servers.
