Would it be possible to add an option to "Keep tab position when reconnecting" that will make a connection keep the tab-position if you reconnect it (fx to reset the screen dimensions).
Fx if you have 5 tabs and you click Reconnect on tab 3 it will be disconnected (disappear) and recreated as tab 5.
Maybe a reconnect could keep the tab open and just do the reconnect within the tab = refresh the contents?
